The rose tattoo has from the very beginning been a staple in Chicano tattooing, tattooing in general for that matter. From the neighborhoods and streets of California to state prisons and beyond, the gangster rose has forever and a day been passed down from one homeboy to another in the form of a tattoo.
Whether the intended emotion to be conveyed by its wearer was life, loss or love, the rose tattoo could say it all. When I first set out to draw my own tattoo rose I planted a little tree. When the roses finally came into bloom that next year I watched with curiosity the evolution of the beautiful flower unfold from tiny bud to full expression. That year the little rose tree taught me all I would ever need to know about its petals, leaf patterns and piercing thorns. I took that knowledge and began growing my ability to design my own gangster rose tattoos.
I've spent my years since enjoying the gift of giving the rose to those that have come to sit in my chair. I hope you all enjoy the designs I've make in this book and put them to good use whether it be in a drawing for your sweetheart, or down at then tattoo parlor in the timeless gesture of the gangster rose tattoo.

Common Questions About our Brush Sets
How do I download and install the brushes?
Firstly, we recommend you make your purchase from your ipad using google chrome to view the website. Once you’ve purchased the brush, click “download item(s)”. A new tab will open with your attachment at the bottom of the screen. Click “download” in the lower right area. Once the download is complete, click “Open in..” and select “Procreate” from the list of apps.
Procreate will launch and your new brush(s) will show up in your brush library at the very top. That’s it!
Can I use these brushes for client designs?
The downloadable products from Tattoo Dream are to only be used as reference for tattooing. Any other use including logos, products, and other for-profit uses are prohibited. It’s the same as if you were to purchase a physical book or film. You own that copy but not the rights to the contents.
Do the brushes work on other platforms besides Procreate?
Our brushes are specifically designed for Procreate on iPad and are not compatible with other platforms.
